First Contest in 2012

Okay I will make the contest and this will be my first one too.
Keep this in mind anyone person can join. DA or not they can be interested on doing what they please is fine with me.

Theme: of this contest is to make original Villain character, by using these species.
Reptile, Bird, Fish, Amphibian and Insect. That you must choose.
You are allowed to make hybrid characters but these are only species you will use.

Rules


Artwork: It must be original and showing nice color scheme. No abusing effects and brushes etc., such as making it realistic since it comes out bad if actual drawing is not good itself. So you must put effort into this. Meaning of knowing bit about color theory, and good shading. You must use at least 2 or 1 shading effect on the character since if you but really dark background when all this effects and other things, I can barely tell what it is. So I want this simple and not too complex on coloring. It can also be traditional artwork by not coloring in and focus on shading, is accepted and also it can be in any style.


introducing and back story: The back story must be original, it can not rip off any shows nor anything else. It must also show Pros and Cons on the characters as their strength and weaknesses. It also must be introducing the character by age and whatever to put on them. Mary sues and Gary stus are not acceptable since they can not be all powerful thing. You can make him/her strong but it must have weaknesses and be realistic.

Weapons: This depends on if you want to add weapons in or not. But if you are adding weapon it must be detailed (not over board detail) and completely different. It can base on real weapon like example of Katar or Sickles.

ALSO I forgot that you can make characters out of objects as well. But it must look like the species of the creature. It can be Robotic, martial or light sources (like fire or something) and it must have at least some clothing on them or lot clothing on them since I don't accept nudity



Not acceptable:

Mammals: Mammals will not be acceptable including having human features as well.
It must be included corrected anatomy wise such as color and size. Only anatomy is way different is on Spiders.  However in others it is not Males must be colorful looking while females is not. It will be anthro but it can't have mammal features since it doesn't make sense on lizard if female lizard is colorful and having breasts when it can just lay eggs. It is also too easy to draw. But it can have human figure but it can't have boobies nor dicks.

Famous weapons and animal: This will not be acceptable since there is many many difference weapons and species to known to man. Keep this in mind this is what I mean as examples Great whites, Black Widows and Trachea etc. It can be common species in that yes but it can't be famous ones is all.  Since they get over used and it can be annoying to see. Example of one species that is not common but still same family in character form is Brown Recluse or the Whorl Tooth.

Mythical  creatures: will not take since I have seen so many one such as common dragon.  combining characters are accepted able but it can't be a dragon nor any Mythical creature.

Mature art: Fetishes and pornography that will never be acceptable. Only mature art will be acceptable is gore yes but not over doing that keep that in mind.

-Art must be original and must be made from YOU.  No recoloring nor stealing.

#3rd place: Will receive
Ms Paint job with heavy details such as shading etc in full body view.
Photoshop job with just shading no color involved with mug shot and
Also with some little realism in MS Paint.

#2nd place: will receive a Photoshop job with basic color and shading in full body view with simple background. Small chibi simple with no background with anything you want in it and heavy detailed realism picture that is just made in Photoshop. (in color but not painted job.)

#1st place: Will receive two heavy detailed full body view with background that is very detailed that is made in Photoshop.
Realism picture made in Photoshop with heavy detail and shading, making it a painted job.

Shows, video games, manga etc. Such as Homestuck, Twilight, Hunger Games, etc.

All I gotta say is that fun with this guys.

ALSO I will put my final thoughts into them to give some criticizes.
But that is only it.
